Step by step procedure

Step 1: Comprehensive Consultation and Imaging

Your implant specialist takes a full 3D CBCT scan to assess bone density, volume, and anatomy. This determines implant size, placement angle, and whether bone grafting is needed before surgery.

Step 2: Treatment Planning

A detailed implant plan is created digitally, showing the exact position of each implant. You receive a full timeline and cost breakdown before any commitment.

Step 3: Bone Grafting (if required)

If your jawbone is insufficient to support an implant, a bone graft is placed first. This typically requires 3 to 6 months of healing before implant placement can proceed.

Step 4: Implant Placement Surgery

Under local anesthesia (sedation is also available), the titanium implant is carefully placed into the jawbone. The procedure usually takes 30 to 60 minutes per implant and is performed under sterile surgical conditions.

Step 5: Healing and Osseointegration

The implant is left to integrate with the jawbone over 3 to 6 months. A temporary crown or healing cap is placed during this phase. Most patients resume normal daily activities within 2 to 3 days.

Step 6: Abutment Placement

Once the implant has fully integrated, a small connector called an abutment is attached to the implant post. This provides the structural base for the final crown.

Step 7: Custom Crown Fitting

Impressions or digital scans are taken to fabricate your custom ceramic crown. The crown is color-matched to your adjacent teeth for a completely natural finish. Fitting takes one short appointment.

Implant failure is rare but can occur, particularly in smokers or patients with uncontrolled health conditions. If an implant does not integrate, it is removed, the site is allowed to heal, and the procedure can often be attempted again after the bone recovers.
