Wisdom teeth (third molars) are the last teeth to emerge, typically appearing between the ages of 17 and 25. Many people do not have enough jaw space to accommodate them, causing the teeth to become impacted (stuck in the gum or bone), partially erupted, or to grow at an angle that affects adjacent teeth. Step 1: Consultation and Imaging A panoramic X-ray or CBCT scan is taken to assess the position, angle, and root anatomy of the wisdom tooth. The surgeon determines whether the case is a simple extraction or requires surgical technique. |

Step 3: Local Anesthesia. The area around the wisdom tooth is thoroughly numbed with local anesthetic. Sedation is also available for anxious patients or for the removal of multiple teeth in one session |

Step 4: Tooth Exposure (Surgical Cases) For impacted teeth, a small incision is made in the gum to expose the tooth. The surrounding bone may be gently shaped to allow safe removal of the tooth without pressure on adjacent structures. |

Step 5: Extraction The wisdom tooth is loosened with specialist instruments and lifted or sectioned before removal. The socket is cleaned to remove any infected tissue or debris. |
